Leeds

The city of Leeds, another big University city is home to Leeds University, Leeds Beckett University and Leeds Trinity University as well as Leeds University of Art. There are over 70,000 students occupying the various Universities and student areas throughout the city. Much of Leeds Beckett University accommodation sits around their Headingley Campus, next to Beckett Park. 

 

Leeds Top Student Areas 

Like many University towns & cities, fresher students tend to occupy the various student halls and accommodation provided across the city centre, with many second and third year students opting to rent student houses in and around areas such as Hyde Park, Headingley, Burley and Kirkstall, with Hyde Park and Headingley typically being the most popular. 

The city centre is an excellent place to scout out your favourite shopping spots with a sprawling high street based around Trinity Leeds Shopping Centre, the main commercial shopping centre. Leeds also plays host to the beautiful Victorian Arcade, Victoria quarter.

Leeds Nightlife

In terms of nightlife, Leeds has plenty on offer. With Call Lane, a strip of unique and mostly independent bars and well renowned clubs such as Mint Warehouse & Space. Freshers week see’s Leeds play host to some of the UK’s biggest Freshers Events, such as the unmissable ‘Big Freshers Lockdown.’

If electronic music is your thing, and you’re going to study at Leeds then you’re in good hands, Mint Warehouse regularly features lineups of international talent and not to mention their iconic bank holiday day parties!
