1) Visit Sheffield’s Botanical Gardens

Set over 19 acres of land and with over 5000 species of plants Sheffield’s botanical gardens has been an attraction for over 150 years. Check out their listings as they often hold events including the likes of ‘Art in the Garden’ and their open air theatre.

2) Visit the Peak district

Just to the west of Sheffield you have the beautiful peak district, perfect for weekend walks to decompress from busy weeks or just for a change of scenery. Try visiting Mam Tor or Kinder Scout, just make sure you don’t attempt these walks in poor weather conditions and be wary that the difficulty level is suitable, there are many Peak District walking guides to help find the right walk for you.

 

3) Attend Tramlines Festival

This music festival takes place annually at Hillsborough Park with music policy focused around pop and Indie music and is organised by a panel consisting of local venue operators and promoters. Keep an eye out for this year’s lineup!

4) Visit The Crucible

Sheffield’s very own theatre, The Crucible, hosts a variety of plays, theatre shows, musical performances, and even sporting events such as the snooker.

5) Kelham Island Museum

The Kelham Island Museum is a museum dedicated to preserving and showcasing Sheffield’s proud industrial history. Sheffield was once a hub for making British Steel, the museum hosts interactive galleries and even has craftsmen on site.
